Customer Service Representatives with the DMV assist with services associated with driver’s license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements.

License Plate Production Technicians perform factory production floor operations such as layout, manufacture, inventory and distribution of State license plates for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Motor Vehicle Appraiser's appraise motor vehicles in wrecking and tow-yards for abandoned vehicle liens; determine value and legal methods of disposal; inspect vehicles’ identification numbers to determine legal ownership; provide information regarding lien procedures and documentation for title processing and vehicle registration. 

Emission Control Technicians perform a variety of inspection, investigation, and technical assistance activities to ensure compliance of state-licensed emission control stations and emission control inspectors with federal and State laws and regulations regarding vehicle emissions, and to assist and inform the public regarding the state’s emission control program.

Motor Vehicle Inspectors check public vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and compare those to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Labels (FMVSS) and confidential vehicle identification numbers (CVIN), and provide VIN assignments to vehicles that are homemade or where the number has been damaged, removed or obliterated. Incumbents research vehicle ownership through State-owned programs and/or the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) or other entities, and perform a variety of safety inspections to enforce the laws and regulations specified in chapters 482, 484, and 486 of the NRS.
